  • Hello, Does it has a profitable perspective to sell Cooking Recipes e-books? Thank you!

  • Dear Neon_Ray, Thank you for your inquiry! It seems that it does NOT have a profitable perspective to sell cooking recipe e-books. According to Investor's Business Daily, the total electronic-book market (including devices and titles) for the year 2000 registered a meager $34 million. Forrester Research estimates that over the next five years, the e- book and e-book device market will only fetch a commiserable $251 million. Based on article available at ComputerUser.com, "Publishers are expecting trade e-book sales that won't materialize," commented Daniel P. O'Brien, the senior analyst at Forrester responsible for the report. "The drawbacks of reading onscreen will discourage all but the most motivated readers." To read more of this article, visit: E-books at the Lake: http://currents.net/articles/2010,1,2,1,1001,01.html It seems that the largest or only sector of ebooks to see any sort of a profit looks to be those whose target audience is in academia, i.e., schools, universities, etc. Because generally cooking is not taught in any public schools and only a few universities might offer cooking classes, they're probably not going to fit that nitch in the market. One of the main reasons why e-books have little profitability is because there are already many free e-books available to download off the web. Some sites with free e-books include: EbookJungle – Search for e-books, many free: http://www.ebookjungle.com/ E-book store: http://www.rbs4u.com/ebooks/ Free e-books – Over 20,000 downloads http://www.ebookdirectory.com/ Another main reason why there is not a profitable perspective to sell cooking recipe e-books is because there are already many websites where one can get free cooking recipes. As some Commenter's below noted, it might be possible to make a profit if the cooking recipe ebook is exceptionally good, highly detailed, with a very specific target market. However, I was able to find MANY good, detailed recipes for unique foods for free using the Internet: The Low Fat Vegetarian Recipe Archive http://www.fatfree.com/ Free Gourmet Recipes – Cooking Delicious Meals http://www.free-gourmet-recipes.com/ Cookie Recipes http://www.cookierecipe.com/default.asp Allergy-Free Recipes http://www.foodallergy.org/recipes.html Free Thai Food Recipes http://www.siamese-dream.com/thai_recipes/thai_recipes.html If you are still willing to give it a go and would like to optimistically tackle the cooking recipe e-book market, here is a good site where you can buy books on how to make profits from the Internet: E-books on promotion and affiliate programs http://www.websuccessmaker.com/bookstore/e-books- promotion_affiliate_programs.htm Also, for a free newsletter on making a profit using the Internet, see: Internet Market Profit Tips Newsletter http://www.professionalglobalmarketing.com/ezine120301.html Search terms used: ebooks profitability cooking e-books free recipes profit and e-books ebook market Good Luck in whichever you choose!
