Can i get a taxi from bandra terminus to nasik? Best answer on the web These taxis are pretty safe to use, as are the ones operating from Nashik to Mumbai(the same service).
Each taxi takes four passengers, hence if you are single, you either wait for three others to turn up or hire the entire taxi by yourself.
The travel duration should be roughly four to five hours depending on the traffic as well
A train, though is certainly better.
It would be better to get off the train at Dadar Terminus because there are official taxi ranks there. There are black-yellow cabs, not air conditioned, who will take you to Nashik for about 1800 Rupees (say £22 or $45). But those drivers are not so well regulated and they tend to overload their cabs, and are not well known for good driving !! It is not uncommon on the road from Mumbai to Nashik to see at least one wrecked black-yellow cab. Their drivers seem to have some simple rules: always overtake on a blind corner, always expect other drivers to give way, always drive at maximum speed in all conditions.
Instead, there are "coolcabs" that are blue and white. They have air conditioning and are generally in better condition. Their drivers are known to be more careful and to take care of passengers as well as their cabs. It will cost 2500-3000 Rupees (£30-£35 or $60-$70).
There is a train service from Dadar Terminus to Nashik, but not from Bandra. Actually, the train goes to Nashik Road, which is about 15 kilometres outside Nashik and then you'll have to take a cab. Cost about 300 Rupees, say £3.50 or $7.00. Even so, it is a more reliable way to travel during the monsoon amd probably all year round, although you have to book a seat and that is difficult for a visitor or if you arrive at Dadar out of office hours.
