editing DVDs together into a clip DVD Best answer on the web
  • I have been making a series of home DVDs of my family. But I would like to know where I can get (online, preferable) some editing software that will allow me to grab clips from this or that DVD and edit them all together.
I'm not looking for software that will copy my DVD's wholesale: I'm looking for software that will allow me to grab, say, a 2 or 3 minute section from a movie, and convert it to, say, a QT file, all the while preserving the high quality, and allowing me to make a compliation stand-alone DVD when I'm done.

  • Hello gnossie-ga

    1. What do you use to shoot?
    2. Why do you need to grab already made DVD from your rushes?
    3. Are you willing to pay for this software that you will need?

Please answer these questions and I will most definitely come up with a solution for you. There may be more queries...

  • Vin:

Any advice you could give me would be appreciated.

In answer to your questions, all I can say is that I no longer have the "rushes," only the finished DVDs. And yes, I am willing to pay quite a lot for software that will capably do what I desire.

  • Hi, Again, Gnossie

I have a copy of a program called DVD-X that I bought in January this year which purports to do just that - but I haven't tried it yet. (I only re-discovered it again yesterday when I was looking for something else.)
If you search for "DVD-X" you may find something suitable:
